Letter to Belgium Tourism Board

Hi, was very upset and disappointed lately. My hubby lost two brand new LV bags at your airport while he was keying in his details to board the plane. He has made a police report on 12 June 2010 and was rejected when he asked to view the CCTV.

To attract more tourists, surely an improvement need to be done in this area. When a tourist reported the loss of two LV bags, shouldn't the airport police do something and helped to view the CCTV to catch the culprit ? I believe the culprit will strike again.

Security measures need to be improved and your police need to be more responsible.
If there is some quality control going on, it is important to do spot check on your airport police who are chatting in a big group right in front of the entrance to the airport.

And when a tourist reported the loss of TWO LV bags, no actions is taken at all.

A report was recorded and that's it.

No one bothered to catch the culprit. Until now, we have not receive any updates as well.

I believe as a developed country who want to attract more tourists to your country, the police should be more alert and responsible.

Without viewing the CCTV, my husband and his colleagues have to go around the airport themselves looking for the culprit and they do not even know how he/she looked like. They can only see whether there is anyone carrying a huge LV paper bags that contain two LV bags.

Needless to say, their search was futile.

If the police has assisted them , i believe the search would have been more fruitful.

This incident could also have been prevented if your airport police and security officers have been patrolling the area instead of chatting in a big group right in front of the airport entrance.

It would have been a real pity if innocent lives were lost when the security is so lax and made the place an easy target for terrorists' attack.

The purpose of this letter is to alert your tourism board and well as your relevant authorities that negligence should never be happening in any airport worldwide.

Please do step up your security measures so that the lives of your tourists and residents would not be at stake due to the negligence of your security officers in the airport.

If they want to chat, they should be chatting after office hours and not when they are on official duty.
